Frequently Asked Questions

How many dogs can I book in at a time?
You can schedule up to two (2) dogs per appointment.
How long will it take to have my dog(s) groomed?
The duration of the groom will depend on your dog’s breed, size, coat condition, temperament, and mood on the day of the appointment, but you can get a rough estimate on the Services page.
How much will it cost to have my dog(s) groomed?
The total amount factors in the duration of the groom, the dog’s behaviour at the appointment, and the condition of the dog’s coat, but you can get a rough estimate on the Services page. Payment is accepted via cash or e-transfer. No cheques will be accepted.
How often should I have my dog(s) groomed?
The frequency depends on your dog’s coat, but as a general rule you should try to bring your dog(s) in at least every 8 weeks.
When should I pick up my dog(s)?
As the duration of the groom may vary, please wait until you receive a text and email letting you know that we’re ready for pickup. Dogs must be picked up within 30 minutes of the pickup notification being sent. A $5 fee for every 15 minutes after that window may apply, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon at the time of booking.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
You may cancel or reschedule up until 48 hours before your appointment. No-shows and late cancellations may result in prepayment being required for any future visit. We understand that emergency situations arise and will work with you on a case-by-case basis, at our sole discretion. Please be respectful of our time as we are a by-appointment business, so another client could have taken your appointment slot had we known in time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you risk losing your appointment without notice due to time constraints. A $25 late cancellation/no-show fee may be applied at the discretion of The Fluffed Tail Dog Spa.
My dog just went into heat. Can I still bring her in for grooming?
Due to potential heightened sensitivity, hormonal mood shifts, and risks of attracting male dogs or contracting infections, please wait until your dog is fully out of heat before bringing her in for an appointment. If you already have an upcoming appointment, please reschedule it if there is sufficient time.
